Zusammenfassung:	Kinetics studies of carbon disulfide oxidation by hydrogen peroxide in alkaline medium were made spectrophotometrically. Reaction of Cs 2 and OH - ion was found to be rate controlling and proceeded by formation of a dithiocarbonate complex. Sulfate formation increased exponentially with time and was dependent on rate of hydrolysis of Cs 2. Results were extended to carbonyl sulfide oxidation on alakline solutions.
