Zusammenfassung: | Phonation in professional singers is somewhat athletic. It requires not only good vocal technique, but voice health as well. Both can be established by regular vocal practice. Warm-up & vocal exercises are important activities that need to be practiced regularly & with discipline if they are to build the mental & physical efficacy that is needed for vocal performance & a successful career in singing. The positive effects of warm-up exercises on the voice are well known, as are the possible negative post-performance effects, which are acute & soon disappear in well-trained singers. But what about vocal rehearsal & its acoustic effects? The present study attempts to give an answer to this question. The investigation included seven professional female singers. Their voices were acoustically analyzed before & after one hour of vocal rehearsal. The results suggested changes in the direction of optimization. 2 Tables, 3 Figures, 21 References.
