Zusammenfassung: | A review of Chancen und Perspektiven computergestutzter Lexikographie ([Chances and Perspectives of Computer-Supported Lexicography] Lemberg, Ingrid, Schroder, Bernhard, & Storrer, Angelika [Eds], Tubingen, Germany: Niemeyer, 2001), a collection of 13 essays on lexicographical principles & applications arising from contributions to a symposium on the use of computers in the production & publication of dictionaries held in 1998 in Heidelberg, Germany, & still relevant in essentials despite the brief half-life of many of the specific topics addressed. Extensive summaries of each essay are provided, & it is argued that the extent & persistence of changes in lexicographic practice due to computerization is still unknown; whereas computerization has revolutionized dictionary production & reduced the importance of decisions regarding lemma structure, metalexicographic structural foci must be completely rethought in the age of hypertext, as classical lexicographic theory now rests on shaky ground. 19 References.
