An Excerpt from El Libro de los caballos, 13th Century Translation of the Practica equorum

A critical analysis of an excerpt from a 13th-century Castilian translation of a horse veterinary treatise Practica equorum, which focused on diseases & cures, but also described the physical appearance of difference types of horses. The Latin original is attributed to Teodorico Borgognoni; authorship of the Castilian translation has not been determined. The excerpt examined here comes from Georg Sachs's (1936) edition, which is based on codex E housed at the Real Biblioteca del Escorial in Madrid. 16 References. C. Brennan
