Zusammenfassung: | Focusing on the question of control in the instructional framework of the textbook, a sequence of activities is presented that integrates strategies of reading, reasoning, & writing with the focus on empowering students with the means of controlling their own learning. By utilizing the directed reading-thinking activity in correlation with journal writing & decision-making strategies, the students work through a series of reasoning activities in cooperative groups that culminate with the evaluative process in a written argumentation. Metacognitive awareness of the students is facilitated as they work with these strategies & become actively engaged in their own learning. 16 References. AA |
