Some Remarks on Proper Nouns in Khroniko ton Tocco

Giuseppe Schiro's (1975) edition of the Khroniko ton Tocco (Tocco Chronicle) is criticized for several shortcomings, & a list of necessary corrections in 20 proper nouns is compiled: (1) derive the name of Menonos/Menounos -- one of the sons of Carlo I Tocco -- from Memnone/*Mennone, the hero of the Iliad; (2) correct several toponyms; (3) delete three ghost words; (4) cancel four instances of "ghost accentuation"; (5) reestablish palatalization of [l] & [n] in some designations; & (6) hyphenate or compound some names.
