| Zusammenfassung: | The linguistic, archaeological, ethno-cultural, & historical aspects of studying Illyrian & Thracian hydronyms attested in Ukrainian territory are examined; the problems of chronology & geography are addressed in particular. Some 40 Illyrian & 10 Thracian hydronyms are identified & the majority are found to be located in the territory of the right bank of the Dnieper River; their history is traced to the fifth-third millenium BC. The migration of Illyrian & Thracian tribes into this area is discussed & the correlation of archaeological & linguistic data is examined. 4 Figures, 42 References. Z. Dubiel |
