Two contemporary cookbooks are compared: (1) Ruberto de Nola's Libro d'guisados, manjares y potajes, intitulado Libro de cozina ([A Book of Stews, Special Dishes, and Vegetable Dishes, Entitled A Book of Cuisine], 1525) & (2) Diego Granado's Libro del arte de cozina ([A Book on the Art of Cuisine], Madrid, 1599). The French-Spanish & Spanish-French parts of Oudin's cookbook are characterized with special attention to the treatment of equivalents & the types of information he provides about the terminology (linguistic aspects) & the dishes (recipes & descriptions).
