Intense student contact, lack of perceived success, work overload, & isolation are a few of the job related factors that make remedial reading teachers particularly susceptable to burnout. A specific plan of action is presented which offers a number of positive steps that can be taken by the supervisor in dealing with burnout among both new & experienced reading staff. 10 References.
