Zusammenfassung: | The term "terminological thesaurus" is critically examined & its relationship to such designatory alternatives as "classified glossary," "systematic glossary," or "classified vocabulary" is discussed. It is noted that any of these alternatives would be too narrow a designation because the terminological thesaurus is more than a dictionary, glossary, or vocabulary, as it aims at a coherent systemized representation of the knowledge structure of a particular subject. The modifier "terminological" is required to distinguish it from general language & documentation thesauri. Additional rationales are given for the term's appropriateness & a typology & definition are presented. Z. Dubiel |
