Zusammenfassung:Eng quantified phrases are studied by means of a formal lang. It is argued that better explanations can be provided for natural lang phenomena if they are studied in first-order langs. A formal language L is developed, its syntax is given, & English quantified NPs are translated & analyzed. It is shown that the phrases' behavior in L approximates their behavior in Eng. Also the syntactic & logical expressions of L have the same semantic force as their Eng counterparts. L is claimed a valid formal model of a portion of Eng. Z. Dubiel
