Zusammenfassung:A sociolinguistic questionnaire was designed to elicit an in-depth analysis of a broad spectrum of Slovene social settings. The questionnaire posed 460 hypothetical but common dyads from 10 common settings to informants & asked them to mark the correct form of address used by one person addressing another under the conditions stipulated. Some striking differences were found between rural & urban responses; these differences are discussed given more general conversational strategies. AA.
