Zusammenfassung: | The objectives and philosophy of the University of North Florida's Department of Special Education program is competency based in nature with emphasis on those generic competencies required of all school personnel dealing with exceptional children. In addition the department emphasizes the use of behavioristic principles. The Hearing Impaired Program, which has received the Council of Education for the Deaf certification at the elementary education level, employs the use of these generic competencies and behavioristic techniques in training teachers of the hearing impaired. The program uses an evaluation system which is detailed in the present article. |
