Zusammenfassung: | An investigation into the development of computer-assisted language learning (CALL) for teaching foreign-language vocabulary to military linguists used the LEXNET-INSITU system, with Hypertext software. The design system was evaluated with a checklist by guidelines for language instruction materials & for the design of Hypertext-based instruction. To evaluate interface issues, expert evaluators (N = 7, 5 of whom also served as "students") reported cognitive overload & difficulty in navigation & system help. Pedagogical issues examined include positive reception of hypermedia, & weakness of feedback. Research projects are discussed. 2 Tables, 5 Figures, 21 References. J. Mayberry |
