Zusammenfassung: | Hearing-impaired participants (N = 40, aged 32-85) were fitted with the ReSound ED2 two-channel two-memory wide dynamic range compression hearing aid. After 6 months, the final settings for cross-over frequency & compression ratio for each channel showed statistically significant correlations between the slope of hearing loss & the programmed cross-over frequency & compression ratio. It was found that as slope increased, the cross-over frequency increased & the low frequency compression ratio decreased. No participant selected a cross-over frequency for Memory 2, which was lower than the cross-over frequency for Memory 1. It is recommended that the interactions between the channels of multichannel instruments & the settings of cross-over frequency & compression ratio not be overlooked. 6 Figures, 12 References.
