The effects of prolonged centrifugation on Amoeba proteus

Amoebae of the proteus strain were continuously maintained at 40 g in a centrifuge microscope for periods up to 36 days. This produced a partial stratification of the organism but it did not result in a detectable alteration in the amoebae's form or function.
