Zusammenfassung: | Summary
Serum creatine phosphokinase (SCPK) activity was determined in mongrel dogs before and after 45-60 min of treadmill exercise (268 m/min; 10° grade). The ability of prednisolone to prevent the elevation of SCPK levels observed after exercise was investigated. This exercise load, in untreated animals, resulted in a large increase in SCPK activity. Serum creatine phosphokinase activity did not increase to the extent observed in the untreated dogs if prednisolone was administered. The cellular permeability change and/or necrosis occurring during exercise may be reduced by the action of prednisolone. |
