Unsuccessful studies in the dialysis of the mouse scrapie agent

Spleen homogenates and brain homogenates from scrapie affected mice were dialysed in collodion shells. Exhaustive dialysis and continuous counter-current dialysis of large volumes of spleen homogenates were also investigated in Visking tubing sacs. No detectable activity was found in any diffusate.
