PURPURA FULMINANS

—A case of purpura fulminans with survival is reported. The pathogenesis of this rare and usually fatal disease is discussed with special reference to its therapeutic implications. Anticoagulants should be administered at the earliest possible stage if life is to be saved and mutilation minimized.
