Zusammenfassung: | Plasma FSH and LH levels for 12 postpartum patients are reported. In the majority of samples from 3 of 4 nonlactating, nontreated patients. FSH and LH levels were low but detectable. None of 4 patients given Iactation -suppressive hormones had detectable FSH and all had low but detectable LH. In 27% of the samples from 4 lactating mothers, levels of FSH were low while LH levels were low but detectable in all samples. There was no significant change in mean plasma FSH. LH or growth hormone in response to suckling. The significance of these findings is discussed. |
