Zusammenfassung:The effect of P i on the pyruvate kinase reaction has been studied with the L-type enzyme, partially purified from rat liver. Depending on the substrate concentrations P i can stimulate or inhibit the reaction. P i and the phosphorylated hexoses tested, are able to overcome the ATP inhibition of the pyruvate kinase reaction. A correlation between the stimulation of pyruvate kinase and the efficiency in overcoming the ATP inhibition with the phosphorylated hexoses has been found.
