THE BIOPSY-CUCUMBER UNIT: A Method to Improve Tissue Orientation

The pathologistʼs diagnosis of a cervical biopsy is aided by accurate orientation of the specimen. When the latter is placed upon a properly prepared slice of cucumber, the two components may be processed, sliced and stained as a unit. Histologic diagnosis is thus enhanced.
