Zusammenfassung:7α -Hydroxycholesterol-−14C was incubated with fortified rat mitochondria and the following C24-bile acids were identified: 3β, 7α-dihydroxychol-5-enoic acid, chenodeoxy-cholic acid and α-muricholic acid. From these and previous data the following new pathway of chenodeoxycholic acid biogenesis is proposed: cholesterol→7α-hydroxycholesterol→3β, 7α -dihydroxychol-5-enoic acid→chenodeoxycholic acid.
