Zusammenfassung:A total of 2,062 animal and 283 human sera were tested for the presence of bovine herpes virus (infectious bovine rhinotracheitis) precipitating antibody. Positive results were obtained on sera from 5·7 per cent. from native cattle, 2·2 per cent. from imported cattle, 6·8 per cent. from water buffaloes, 2·1 per cent. from pigs, and 2·8 per cent. from both horses and dogs; 322 sheep and 332 goat sera were negative. Of the human sera tested, 4·2 per cent. were positive. These results suggest that infection with I.B.R. virus or related agents occur in cattle and to a lesser extent in other species, including horses and man, in Iran.
