Zusammenfassung: | Mössbauer and magnetic suspectibility studies concur in assigning high spin values to the single iron atom of rubredoxin in both redox forms. Contact shifts were observed in the NMR spectrum of the reduced form that appear to originate from pseudocontact rather than hyperfine contact interaction. The magnetic properties of rubredoxin are compared with those of another iron–sulphur protein, the eight-iron ferredoxin. |
