Pigmented lipid histiocytosis and susceptibility to infection: ultrastructure of splenic histiocytes

Electron microscopy of splenic histiocytes from a patient dying of pigmented lipid histiocytosis was carried out. Intracytoplasmic bodies were observed which were considered related to abnormalities in the oxidation of unsaturated fatty acids.
