Zusammenfassung:Sixty healthy adult patients undergoing uncomplicated surgery of intermediate duration were randomly allocated to anaesthesia with chloroform or halothane. For 48 hours postoperatively renal function was measured using the renal excretory index of Lindsay and others (1965). A significant difference between chloroform and halothane patients was found in the first 24 hours.
