Zusammenfassung:	This report describes 16 cases of hypermagnesemia in neonates of toxemic mothers treated with MgSo4 only. The maternal and fetal serum levels of magnesium were greater than the normal values given in the literature and in our studies. The clinical manifestations in the newborn are similar to adults with hypermagnesemia. Awareness of this problem will help in the management of these infants.
