Zusammenfassung:The acute phase proteins, C-reactive protein, ceruloplasmin and haptoglobin are markedly elevated in children with acute Burkitt lymphoma. These findings are compatible with an infective state. The C-reactive protein shows the greatest fall in concentration in response to treatment and it disappears entirely from the blood of these children when they are cured. It is suggested that serial estimations of the acute phase proteins, particularly C-reactive protein, could be used as an index of response to treatment in children with Burkitt lymphoma.
