Chain Urethrocystography Before and After Urethrovesical Suspension for Stress Incontinence

Pre- and postoperative urethrocystograms, made by means of a catheter containing a beaded chain and use of the double-exposure technic, afforded information concerning 42 patients with stress incontinence that correlated well with clinical findings. The method aids the gynecologist in selecting the type of operations that will best restore normal anatomic relationships. In the authorsʼ experience, the chain cystourethrogram is, with rare exception, abnormal in stress incontinence. However, an abnormal cystourethrogram does not necessarily indicate stress incontinence.
