Zusammenfassung:	Successful transmission of maedi to healthy sheep by the injection of different amounts of 3 serologically related strains of virus isolated in tissue culture from maedi-affected lungs obtained from different flocks is reported. Lesions in the central nervous system indistinguishable from visna were observed. They add to the evidence for the identity of the viruses causing these 2 diseases.
