Zusammenfassung: | Surveyed 15 middle managers, 26 supervisors, and 54 working-level technical employees, from 2 government agencies, to determine their relative degrees of emotional adjustment to the organization and their knowledge of organizational operations. Measures of productivity and need-achievement (n Ach) were also employed. The favorability of scores on all dimensions, except n Ach, decreased with decreasing hierarchical rank. Significant correlations were found between job satisfaction, tension, and internal control, while organizational knowledge was correlated with productivity and n Ach. These findings throw doubt on the general applicability of the findings of R. L. Kahn, et. al. (see 39:3) with respect to the distribution of emotional adjustment across organizational ranks.
