Zusammenfassung:SUBACUTE sclerosing panencephalitis (SSPE), a fatal neuropathy of children, has gained prominence recently because of its presumed aetiological association with measles virus 1 . Several successful isolations of the virus from affected brain tissues have been reported 2,3 . Preliminary characterization studies on these isolates have failed to show differences from classical measles virus strains.
