DEFICIENCIES IN VERBAL LABELING IN RETARDED READERS

In a study of the conversion of visual-temporal to visual-spatial patterns, retarded readers were found to be inferior to normal readers. This deficiency in integrating sensory information was found to be dependent upon the retarded readers' difficulty in labeling stimuli.
