A rapid assay for cholesterol side-chain desmolase and the quantitative determination of desmolase activity in adrenals
Methods for reproducible extraction of soluble cholesterol side-chain desmolase from adrenal cortex and for rapid assay of this enzyme under optimal conditions are described. The desmolase activity of normal rat adrenal thus determined is 1.3±0.16 μmoles/hr/gm wet weight adrenal.
