Zusammenfassung: | Poliovirus inhibitors in equine and bovine sera were fractionated by a combination of salt precipitation, gel filtration and ion-exchange chromatography. Individual inhibitors thus obtained were analysed immunoelectrophoretically using antisera against the inhibitor-virus complexes and those against light chains of equine and bovine immunoglobulins. Enzymatic digestion of inhibitors was also used for the identification. Three kinds of poliovirus inhibitors belonging each to three different immunoglobulin classes, γG, γA and γM, were demonstrated in equine serum. In contrast, bovine serum contained two kinds of distinct inhibitors identified as γG and γM globulins. The relationship between the immunoglobulins with antiviral activity and the specific antibody is discussed. |
