Zusammenfassung: | Thirteen-day-old embryonated eggs were inoculated via the chorioallantoic sac with Phelps' strain of CELO virus. Virus multiplication, histopathological changes, and cellular localization of the virus in the infected embryos were studied. The results indicated the chorioallantoic membrane was the site of virus replication, as shown by the presence of Feulgen-positive inclusions, virus antigens, and infectious virus. No evidence of virus replication was observed in the liver, lungs, spleen, kidneys, or brain of infected embryos. Congestion was seen in the liver and kidneys, and edema in the lungs. |
