Unusual EEG in coma after cardiac arrest
An unusual EEG in a case of deep coma following cardiac arrest has been presented. Bilateral and synchronous spike and wave discharges occurred. An electrographic seizure discharge was activated with Metrazol after 4 weeks of coma. A diffuse cortical and subcortical neuronal degeneration was found....

Zusammenfassung: | An unusual EEG in a case of deep coma following cardiac arrest has been presented. Bilateral and synchronous spike and wave discharges occurred. An electrographic seizure discharge was activated with Metrazol after 4 weeks of coma. A diffuse cortical and subcortical neuronal degeneration was found. This study supports the contention that there is no pathognomic EEG pattern in the state of coma. |
