Autoradiographic patterns of chromosome replication in male and female cell derivatives of the Armenian hamster ( Cricetulus migratorius)

The replication pattern of the sex chromosome pair of normal fibroblast-like derivatives of both sexes of the Armenian hamster Cricetulus migratorius (2 n = 22) has been proven to be late-replicating in the whole length of the short arm and the proximal half of the long arm of the so called X 1, common for both male and female cells. The X 2 of the female and the Y of the male are isomorphic and both are late replicating in their entire length.
