Zusammenfassung: | Clinical application of an operation, first performed in animal experiments by Witherington in 1963 for the correction of vesicoureteral reflux, is presented. From our experience the technic, which elongates the ureter intravesically as a submucosal tunnel, is believed best suited in those patients in whom the ureter is nearly normal in appearance and in whom there is sufficient distance between the ureteral orifice and bladder neck. Its simplicity, freedom from complications, and promise of surgical success should engender a widespread clinical acceptance of this method of correcting vesicoureteral reflux. |
