Oxygen consumption, citrate levels and lactate production of the perfused rat diaphragm

1. 1. The production of lactate has been compared in segments of perfused and non-perfused diaphragms. 2. 2. The pattern of lactate production was similar in all but considerably more was produced in the perfused and Bülbring-type preparations than in manometrically incubated diaphragms. 3. 3. The h...

Zusammenfassung:1. 1. The production of lactate has been compared in segments of perfused and non-perfused diaphragms. 2. 2. The pattern of lactate production was similar in all but considerably more was produced in the perfused and Bülbring-type preparations than in manometrically incubated diaphragms. 3. 3. The high lactate production in perfused diaphragm was not due to hypoxia and it is suggested that it is associated with the continuous removal of lactate in the perfusate.
