Zusammenfassung: | The paper describes some preliminary work using a combination of arteriography and biopsy of the superficial temporal artery in cases of giant cell arteritis and similar related syndromes. Angiographic abnormalities (local stenoses and dilatations) have been shown in typical and atypical forms of giant cell arteritis, during the early and late stages of the disease and even after long-term steroid therapy. In two cases angiography established the diagnosis despite the presence of a negative arterial biopsy. |
