Zusammenfassung: | A new technic for total extirpation of preauricular cysts was performed in forty-seven patients over a period of ten years. No recurrence of cysts so treated was noted. Full visualization of these cysts is an integral part of the surgical technic and essential to its permanent effectiveness. The nature of the cystic structure, exposed
in toto prior to removal, allows gross and microscopic descriptions of these cysts which have not previously been reported in the literature. The present technic not only is a significantly simpler procedure than any other currently available but also may be performed by the general surgeon with complete safety since no areas reserved for the otologic surgeon are invaded. |
