Zusammenfassung:The 132 cases reviewed give further evidence of the effectiveness of antimicrobial drug therapy in the treatment of pelvic tuberculosis. The patient, in most instances, should receive the initial treatment in a sanatorium, and although the stay need not be prolonged, the drug therapy must be continued for 18 to 21 months. Surgery has now largely a diagnostic role to play in the management of pelvic tuberculosis. The failure of any of the patients in this series to achieve an intrauterine pregnancy after treatment is not evidence of therapeutic failure because, in most instances, the Fallopian tubes have been irreparably damaged before antimicrobial drug therapy has been started.
