Zusammenfassung: | Can we identify a group of children at age 2 who are at high risk for emotional disturbance and behavioral problems at school age? In Dr. Chamberlin's careful observations of a group of children (p. 971), no behaviors were documented at age 2 that were strong predictors of these children's adaptation to the school situation two or three years later. There were not even any strong relationships noticed between early and later behaviors within the home setting, or between observations made in the home and in school at approximately the same time! These findings are extremely important and should be heeded by all those involved in planning programs for mental health intervention targeted at high risk populations. |
