Zusammenfassung: | The release of LH from isolated chicken anterior pituitary cells was affected by the ionic composition of the external medium. High potassium stimulated the release of LH and enhanced the response of LH-RH. The stimulatory effect of high potassium and LH-RH was abolished in the absence of calcium. Excess magnesium inhibited the response to LH-RH. Fluoride at a concentration of 10
−2 M stimulated a maximal release of LH while lower concentrations were without effect. The stimulatory effects of potassium and fluoride emphasize the similarity between the mechanism of action of LH-RH in both the chicken and the mammal. |
