Zusammenfassung: | Adolescent mothers differ from adult mothers in their ability to interact with the infant in an adaptive fashions. In particular, teenage mothers appear to possess immature representational capacities which prevent them from predicting imminent infant achievement. The application of a new developmental strategy referred to as previewing may, however, reverse these trends by fostering representational and interpersonal skills in adolescent mothers.
