From National Corporatism to Transnational Pluralism: Organized Interests in the Single European Market

Given the constitutional bargain that underlies the relaunching of the EC in the 1980s, no mechanism is in sight that could rationalize its political system, help crystallize its melange of actors and processes and establish corporatist monopolies of representation, interassociational hierarchies or a predominant position for the Commission's bureacracy and technocracy.
