Zusammenfassung:It is important that clinicians be aware that Strongyloides stercoralis can disseminate, because the helminth can exist as an asymptomatic infestation for years in a person from an endemic area and then become manifest when immunosuppressive therapy is given. A case of fatal strongyloidiasis is presented to emphasize this potential for causing serious infection in the compromised host.
