Zusammenfassung:Department of Microbiology, North Middlesex Hospital, Edmonton, London, N18 1QX Received August 10, 1976 Accepted September 27, 1976 Three procedures for the anaerobic culture of clinical specimens are compared: (i) a conventional bench routine, (ii) a system whereby primary anaerobic plates were incubated for 48 h before examination, and (iii) an anaerobic chamber. It was shown that the anaerobic chamber was of no advantage over bench regimens when primary anaerobic plates were incubated for 48 h before being examined.
